Enhance Your Business with Unique Stamps
Are you using customized postage for your business? Maybe you haven’t heard of it yet. It’s a relatively recent program of the US Postal Service in conjunction with Stamps.com and a few other vendors in which businesses or individuals can create unique postage stamps, within certain guidelines of good taste and copyright.
For instance, you upload your business logo or other graphics to the Stamps.com site, where you can modify it by putting a border on it or making other changes. You decide which denominations of customized postage stamps you want — seven are available — and how many stamps. The company prints the stamps and you have them in hand typically within a few days of placing your order. While they come 20 to sheet, these stamps can also be ordered in rolls for larger quantities, and there are price breaks for buying larg quantities.
Because they are custom made, the stamps do cost more than those ordinary things you can get at a post office or what runs through a postage meter. But they definitely add flair to a piece of mail. It might be just the eye-catching effect that would make a difference in how your company presents itself! Hewlitt-Packard is reported to be the first business to use customized postage for selected mailings.
Here are several ways you could use customized postage in your business:
- Using your logo on a stamp could be a subtle yet clear message. You might not bother putting it on mail for mundane tasks such as paying a garbage bill, but it could be very nice on mailings to customers or when sending out a Priority Mail package of information about your business that someone had requested.
- You could announce future events, such as a conference.
- For special customers, send a thank-you note with your own custom postage on it.
