Cafepress: Much More than Buying Stamps Online
Cafepress really shines when it comes to putting one design on a wide variety of items: t-shirts of many descriptions, mugs, posters, caps, and so on. They don’t do custom postage there but work in conjunction with stamps.com.
If your interest is purely in buying your own custom postage stamps online, then stamps.com is a much simpler way to go.
But if you want to put a design on a variety of items and perhaps offer it to the public for sale, Cafepress is for you! It’s also nice if you want to buy stamps online that other people have created,
I’ve been using Cafepress in this way myself for several years and I love it. I might be my own best customer, as my husband and I are always wearing t-shirts and sweats made from our own photos, and when I get going with an order, it tends to include quite a few items! We use their large mugs a lot too.
It does take a while to learn the ropes at Cafepress: what image sizes and resolutions to use, how to create a store, and more. You can have as many stores as you want, each with one image, or you can pay a modest fee (as I have done)for a store which combines things. I haven’t done much with my store — it’s on my good intentions list! — but you can see the Hartworks Cafepress store here.
