Put Your Pet on a PhotoStamp
Imagine an ordinary envelope, like you’d use to mail a letter. In the upper right corner, there’s a stamp, no surprise there. But wait… what is that? Can that really be your cat there? Sure, you’ve always claimed she was the prettiest cat around, but still, how did that happen?
Due to a fairly new program of the US Postal Service, people can now create customized postage and it’s prefectly legal to go through the mail. Your cat, your dog, or your goldfish can all be used on PhotoStamp®, as well as people, scenery, non-controversial slogans, and much more.
This PhotoStamp® of a dog and teddy bear is a favorite photo of my Basenji, Sunbeam.
In choosing a photo of your animal friend to use, do keep in mind that the images are pretty small. The space you will have to work with is 1.1 inches square. So choose a picture that will read well in that space. It really helps if it’s in focus, nice and sharp. If the pet’s eyes are showing “red eye” from a flash having been used when the picture was taken, it can be improved in most common photo editing software.
Our dogs, cats, and other pets are so much a part of our lives that people enjoy celebrating them in many ways. PhotoStamps® are another very enjoyable way to honor the animals who can mean so much to us. Click on the image at the left of the page to go to stamps.com and see how your photos look. You can test out their software before deciding if you want to continue, and it will show you exactly what you’ll get.
